Our first project was to make a footprint that introduced us to the rest of the class. In this project you trace the outline of your foot, and display your name in the foot. Then you have to think of different items that you feel describe you. With these items you have to use different mediums of art to show these items.
An extension activity that you could do with this is having your students go home and do a footprint for two other members of their family. This way you can get to know more about your students family and they can maybe learn some history about their family.
